Afer a very light breakfast we caught the local bus to Diamond Head State Monument. We hiked the 2.6 km round trip, up and down the 327 steps to an elevation of 232 metres.
Despite trekking early to avoid the heat of the day, we were bathed in sweat by the time we reached the top.
After a rest and a cooling swim, we caught the bus to the Ala Moana Shopping Centre. The Ala Moana is enormous and we arrived in time to see most shops close up.
You just can't trust google all the time. Dinner was in a restaurant in the town centre and we called in at the local supermarket to buy a few breakfast supplies.
