Day 16 -July 20 Los Angeles

Santa Monica

We had only a taster of the sprawling city of LA. Saw the beach, the Hollywood hills from our hike through the smog and Hollywood Blvd. Friendly people, lots of cars, tacky but fine.

Santa Monica

We had an early start for our flight to LA. 

We booked a shuttle and we were the first pick up. It took a good hour just to get out of downtown New York.

Fortunately at the airport we were waved through the main security queue and through the priority line. We had only a short wait before boarding. Our flight was approx 5.5 hours. We touched down at LAX and soon we were in an UBER to the Normandie hotel on Wilshire Bvld in Koreatown. 

Cycle from Santa Monica to
Venice Beach

After settling in we ordered a Lyft and went to Santa Monica. Our driver was very chatty and an aspirational actor.

We walked the pier, along the beach and then hired a bike and rode to Venice Beach.

After our cycle we found a nice restaurant in Santa Monica and then got a Lyft home.
